January Releases

New year, new releases! I’ll admit to somewhat stretching the phrase, but I have added a few new items to the store.

Most products now have stock management. This means you can see how many I have in stock before you order. You can still order more than I have in stock, but be aware that I will have to cast the extra quantity to fulfil your order. I usually only have one mould per item, so large orders can take a while. Especially if I have a big contract on and am in the middle of crunch time!

You’ll notice that the spiked veteran pads stock is low. I haven’t had chance to build up a stock but thought I would release them anyway. Bear it in mind when you order!

I have a February release lined up too, mostly items I couldn’t get ready in time for this month, but don’t go thinking that means I’m planning monthly releases!

Commissions and Freelance

So the workshop is up and running and I am caught up with orders. With the ludicrous amount of rain we’ve had in the UK recently,  I’ve had some trouble with flooding but I have been able to work around it to some extent.

I need to explain another, more frustrating, problem which I have been encountering lately in delivering my custom shoulder pads service. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to get prints I am happy with at a price reasonable for most hobbyists to pay. Combined with rising costs of both prints and shipping those prints to me, this means that I’m going to have to stop offering the custom service until I can find a more suitable solution. I’m sorry to those of you who will be disappointed by this.

I continue to be very busy with freelance work. You should see several of my sculpts for GCT Studios’ Rise of the Kage boardgame fairly soon. My first sculpt for their Bushido skirmish game has also just gone on pre-order (see below). Great guys to work with. They have crafted a wonderful oriental-inspired fantasy world and a fantastic ruleset to go with it. One of my favourite games currently. If you haven’t played it yet, I highly recommend trying it out. The rules can be downloaded for free from their website.

Ben.

Almost back!

Thanks for your patience. I’ve got the broadband reconnected and the new workshop arranged, I just need to finish setting it up. I’m hoping to be back in business by the end of next week.

Moving – argh!

Balls have been dropped, though not by me – no internet access until the 11th! I’ll try to keep connected with mobile broadband, but please bear with me. By the time I’m back online, I hope the new workshop will be up and running.

Time to pack the last few boxes. Ugh…

Master Crafted Miniatures is moving!

Less than two weeks from now, I will be moving from Littlehampton back to Portsmouth. It’s a move that’s been a long time coming and I’m really looking forward to settling back there. There is a great deal of sorting and packing to be done. At the same time, I am currently busier than ever with freelancing work. Look out for some cool things showing up fairly soon! Once I have moved, I will need some time to set up a new workshop. As much of my stock, with the exception of MAOW Miniatures, is cast to order right now this is very important for me to get right. I intend to move towards having a good stock level with proper management, but that will have to wait for now.

What this means for MCM is that any new orders received from today may not be fulfilled until sometime around the 10th of September. Those of you who have recently placed orders need not panic, you will receive them as normal!

I’m looking forward to what the future will bring and to showing some of the work I have been doing lately. Until then, check out Deus Machina from Rogue Heroes. I’ve been working with them for over a year designing mechs and collaborating with their other artists working on the boards and cards.
